Sometimes after a long day, you feel like eating out and have some barbecue with the cool breeze relaxing you. Imagine sitting on a rooftop enjoying seafood, chicken tikka and mishkaki, Hashmi Barbeque Centre –Mombasa is the place to be. Located on Jomo Kenyatta Ave, they have an open rooftop restaurant serving Seafood, chicken tikkas and Mshikakis. The family business started in Nairobi in 1978 by, Mohamed Hasham Bhatti. When he passed away in 1985 Abbas Bhatti and his brother took over .Then they opened a branch in nakumatt ukay in westlands in 1995 and closed the one in town in 1997. After that they opened in msa in 2002 and closed the Mombasa branch in 2005 December. In December 2013 they reopened in Mombasa at the present location while the Nairobi one is still operational.

My review:

Ambiance: Open and breezy

Service: Fast

Waiting time: 10- 15 minutes

Parking:  Roadside parking

Toilet: Available

Waiting Area: Available

Children Play room: Available

Chooza Chicken, Naan and chips: The chicken was well cooked and spiced just right way. You can ask for Mild or too spicy according to your preference. The Naan is just right, not too crispy or too soft. On busy nights, you can wait for a while to be seated. The owners walk around making sure everything is served right or for any complaints that may arise. It’s a fantastic way to end a night out with family or friends.
