UN Day for Persons Living with Disabilities

On 3rd December was UN Day for Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs), in Mombasa we celebrated this day with a Parade from Treasury square to Tononoka grounds which was graced by his Excellency Governor Hassan Ali Joho and Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir. Other dignitaries also attended including Hon Mohamed Abbas, Hon Saad Faraj and National Council for Persons with Disabilities.
The event saw over 400 persons living with Disabilities, the event started at 11 a.m. including entertainment and speeches. Lunch was served to everyone. The sponsors donated included: MCCBO, Dear Diary, Mzuri sweets, Umoja Rubber Products, House of Manji, Gulam Khalfan, Sweets r us and the anonymous Donor who donated the water and juice.

Mombasa County Government pledged to formulate and implement policies that will transform the lives of PWDs and ensuring their integration in all facets of the economy.
They are committed to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and call upon the private sector and all stakeholders to continue supporting in the noble endeavor.
